The T-shirt is the most universal piece in branded apparel. It works across industries, team sizes, and budgets, which also makes the difference between a considered program and a commodity order immediately visible. At Merchcraft in Santa Ana, we develop custom T-shirt programs across Orange County around the brief, not the cheapest blank available.
Who orders custom T-shirts through Merchcraft in Orange County
Our clients span a wide range of industries and intentions. Creative agencies and design studios in Costa Mesa develop internal brand collections. Tech companies in Irvine produce event and culture apparel for growing teams. Hospitality groups in Newport Beach and Laguna Beach outfit front-of-house staff. Outdoor and lifestyle brands in Huntington Beach produce retail merchandise. Event organizers across Anaheim and Fullerton run large promotional programs. Nonprofit and community organizations throughout Santa Ana create volunteer and program apparel.
In every case, the starting point is the same: what does this piece need to do, who is wearing it, and what does the brand need it to communicate?
The blank matters as much as the print
A quality screen print on a poor garment is still a poor garment. Fabric weight, yarn, knit density, fit, collar construction, color treatment, and wash behavior all affect the final result. Lightweight retail tees can be ideal for events and warm-weather programs. Structured midweight and heavyweight blanks create more presence for uniforms, premium merchandise, and customer-facing collections.
Merchcraft can source Bella Canvas 3001 and Next Level 3600 for lightweight retail programs, AS Colour 5001 for a more structured premium direction, Comfort Colors 1717 for relaxed garment-dyed character, and Los Angeles Apparel 1801GD for heavyweight merchandise. Exact styles, colors, sizes, and inventory are confirmed through the current vendor network before quoting. For a fuller framework, see our blank apparel selection guide.
Ink systems for custom T-shirts across OC
The ink system changes the finished character of the shirt significantly. Plastisol is the standard for many programs because it is opaque, vibrant, and repeatable. Water-based inks can create a softer, more breathable result that works well for creative brands in Costa Mesa and Laguna Beach. Discharge can produce a very soft finish on compatible garments and colors, but it requires testing because not every dye system responds the same way.
For programs where surface texture is part of the design language, specialty finishes can include foil, puff, gel, metallic, and other controlled applications. The method should be chosen for the artwork and garment rather than added as a default. For a fuller explanation, see our screen printing guide.
Orange County cities we serve for custom T-shirts
We develop custom T-shirt programs for businesses and organizations throughout Orange County, including Irvine, Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Laguna Beach, Dana Point, San Clemente, Anaheim, Fullerton, Garden Grove, Santa Ana, Mission Viejo, Laguna Hills, and surrounding OC cities. Production is managed in-house at our Santa Ana facility.
Minimum order and turnaround
Screen-printed T-shirt programs generally begin at 24 pieces. For smaller quantities or sample development, DTG printing may be available without a meaningful minimum. Turnaround depends on artwork approval, garment availability, decoration complexity, and current production capacity, so timing is confirmed with the quote rather than treated as a universal promise.
